The advantage of a power amplifier.
The advantage of a separate power amplifier is that it provides more and stable power to your connected speakers. A power amplifier generally provides more control over the speakers, resulting in a more detailed and dynamic reproduction.
A power amplifier often has a high output power and is connected between the preamplifier and the speakers. The power amplifier amplifies the signal from the preamplifier. You can expand your system even further by dividing the power amplifier into monoblocks. This means that a separate amplifier is used for each channel. This way, each speaker has its own stable power supply.
Why a power amplifier?
Power amplifiers often have higher power than integrated amplifiers, because they are equipped with a larger and more stable power supply. This discrete power supply makes the amplifier extremely stable and allows it to maintain better control over the connected speakers. Low-efficiency speakers also thrive on a stable power amplifier. The high power ensures that the dynamic peaks in the recording are reproduced accurately and without distortion, resulting in a clear and detailed sound.
A power amplifier has an important function in delivering high-quality audio. There are transistor-driven power amplifiers but also tube-driven power amplifiers. These tube amplifiers deliver that warm sound.
