About the Focal Bathys Headphones

The Focal Bathys is the first wireless headphones with active noise cancelling (ANC) from the French hi-fi brand Focal.

At Focal, sound quality is paramount. That is why the development of a wireless headphone with ANC took a while. Although a wireless headphone had already been released (Listen Wireless), the Focal Bathys is of a completely different order. In line with all Focal headphones, the M-shaped membrane is also used here.

For the Bathys Aluminum/Magnesium is used. So the sound is really hifi. Especially with the extra DAC function. Closed headphones with active noise cancelling (ANC)

Focal Bathys – DAC

The internal DAC gives the Bathys a “High Resolution” function in 24bits/192kHz. Connected via USB, the sound from a computer will be processed in this high resolution.

Focal Bathys – Connections

In addition to the USB-C connection (for DAC and charging), the 3,5mm jack is still present. It is and remains a frequently used connection. The wireless part (if you can call that a connection), is in Bluetooth® 5.1 Multipoint with codecs SBC, AAC, aptX™ Adaptive, aptX™. This gives it a wide compatibility.

Focal Bathys – Materials

Strong durable materials have been used. Magnesium brackets, leather finish on the headband and an aluminum sliding mechanism. The easily replaceable ear cushions are handy.

Focal Bathys – Assistants & App

On a wireless headphone the “assistants” should not be missing. Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are present. The iPhone compatibility is also official. Of course there is also an App. This gives access to detailed settings.

Focal Bathys – Charging

With “Fast charging” you can charge 5 extra hours in 15 minutes. With a full charge the headphones are active wirelessly with ANC for about 30 hours.
